The interview was conducted by Norman Murdoch, PE, AICP, MCP, Master of City and Regional Planning, UC Berkeley; planning consultant; director of the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission (retired); director of Development, City of St. Louis; chief planner, San Francisco Redevelopment Agency; board of directors, Los Angeles Headquarters Association; board of directors, Los Angeles Regional Planning History Group.Murdoch had known Edward Holden since 1975 as a fellow professional city planner and had worked with him on planning projects in the Los Angeles region. In his preparation for the interview, Murdoch relied on his own knowledge of the field and on documents provided by Holden.
